SolarFuture delivers the world’s largest rooftop solar power plant

Record-breaking solar plant commissioned at DSV in Horsens

The Danish solar company SolarFuture ApS has, right on schedule, completed the installation and commissioning of Denmark’s largest rooftop solar plant on DSV’s logistics buildings in Horsens. Following the final installations and adjustments last week, the plant has now been officially put into operation and is ready to produce green energy.

A significant step in the green transition
The logistics center covers more than 300,000 square meters, the majority of which are now equipped with over 78,000 solar panels. The plant has a total capacity of 34.5 MWp and is expected to produce 33 GWh annually. This makes it the world’s largest rooftop solar installation and a groundbreaking example of how industry can contribute to the green transition.

The annual energy production corresponds to the electricity consumption of approximately 7,300 households, or 6% of the total electricity consumption in Horsens Municipality.

Efficient execution despite complex conditions
Despite the scale of the project, the plant has been completed without significant delays. Since the logistics center remained fully operational throughout the process, great attention was given to ensuring smooth coordination between the solar installation and daily logistics. The building’s design supported an efficient workflow, allowing material deliveries and installations to proceed without disrupting operations.
